Oxygen Dangers?
Is there increased fire danger with our oxygen products?

No.

Oxygen fires are a theatrical creation. Oxygen by itself does not burn. Oxygen is an accelerant and will make a fire burn faster once it starts.

Our products utilize two physical elements which do not increase fire hazard:

·       An Air Compressor O2E2  systems pushes air through a molecular filter made of tiny sand called zeolite. This process occurs at low temperatures, and is driven by an electric air compressor. There is no high temperature in the system. Oxygen comes out a tube. If you feel the oxygen temperature, it is about the same as the room air. The exhaust, with lower oxygen runs about 15 degrees warmer than room air.

·       The Reservoir.
The reservoir is a thick medical grade Poly Vinyl flexible, expandable material. Rich oxygen, captive inside, is isolated from all fuels. Artificially causing a spark inside the reservoir produces no fire, as there is no fuel to burn. Outside the reservoir, there is only normal room air, so the fire risk is no greater than normal.

If you want to test the effect, fill a ziplock bag with oxygen then light it. After the fire melts a hole in the ziplock bag, oxygen begins to spill out the hole. At the boundary, the spilling oxygen accelerates plastic burn to create a growing hole. In a few moments, the enlarged hole disperses remaining oxygen, and the accelerant, oxygen, dissipates, then the fire goes out.

You end up with a ziplock bag with a larger hole than you would have got if you held the match to the bag as the escaping oxygen accelerated plastic combustion long enough to cause a bigger hole.

According to “movie” special effects, the ziplock bag would immediately burst into flames.

There are three elements required for combustion:

·       Fuel

·       Oxygen – in the air at 20% all around us

·       Ignition

Fuel and oxygen exist all around us. Modern air system systems are designed to avoid ignition and Federally overseen.
