Breathing Exercises

FIRST develop your breathing properly.
THEN use/exercise it for whatever goals or purposes you might have.

Our breathing development system is not so much about breathing exercises. We employ a few but we have found that "breathing exercises" mean many things to many people and as a grouping is a poupourri of good, mediocre, bad, confusing and outright dangerously unhealthy ways for using the breath and breathing.  We carefully choose what breathing exercises we DO employ based upon physical function, form and the health, peak performance, self expression, emotional balance and life extension goals of our students.

"Some broad categories of breathing-reeducation exercises include exercises to promote diaphragmatic breathing, belly breathing, back breathing, and so on. But this is just part of the story. To actually transform our breathing and bring about a lasting change, the reeducation exercises we do must be based on the laws and principles of natural breathing, and must be done in such a way that the body/mind can either "re-member" these laws or learn them anew."  Dennis Lewis

The Breathing Exercises in this web site are listed on the programs page as well as with each appropriate program theme. They are utilized differently in different situations. Sometimes one will be more important then another. Other times not. Depends on the goal or situation.

Most important are sequencing, balance, smoothness, depth, ease, strength, integration and coordination from the throat, chest, abdomen, back, sides and crotch both front to back, side to side and diagonally.

They are included in several program themes. Choose the most important theme to you at present and get the breathing exercise(s) in that theme.  Most programs include holistic products that compliment them. These holistic products can be purchased at a savings with the program or separately.

Our basic ground floor fundamentals program. Hundreds of insights, techniques and exercises stemming from years of research and working with the breath and breathing.

Several Marathons has inspired quite a few runners to use our breathing kit, looking to increase their breathing strength & endurance. This is on top of their fitness training programs. Having a major tune-up to re-establish energy-efficient breathing patterns has been of enormous benefit to both elite and recreational runners - young middle and old.
