Requirements It is important for anyone our training to fully understand the certification process, and the differences between a Certificate of OBDSA Apprentice and Certification of OBDS Specialist. This training is for working with and on clients and not for training other trainers to do this work. Apprentices are just that, apprentices. Specialists have demonstrated proficiency in getting results and documenting them. A Completion of the OBDSA (apprentice) is issued at the end of the three day basic workshop if the hours have been attended in whole. This proves you have completed the apprentice hours, and is used to document them with the any relevant modality certification body requiring same. You will at that point be able to make significant improvement in someone's breathing whether you touch them or not. Certificate of OBDS (specialist) is given to trainers after they have completed the requirements listed for OBDS and indicates a mastery of the techniques taught at the three day OBDSA workshop. Satisfaction of the specialist requirements allows the trainer to advertise and market their skills as an Optimal Breathing Development Specialist, as well as receive a breathing.com email address and receive referrals from the breathing.com web site. The techniques are no more physically intense
to the client then any moderate deep massage technique. You can also opt to do
the non touch version and possibly omit or reduce insurance needs all
together. The choice is yours.
To ensure consumers that their best interests are protected and that the services they receive in this modality are delivered in a safe, ethical and professional manner, we reserve the right to follow high standards in the certification process for continuing education. Therapists who do not meet the safety requirements listed in the next section may choose other modalities to enhance their basic massage skill. Safety Disclaimer Safety and comfort to our guest clients, fellow trainers during training, and the general public after your training is over, is our number one priority. OBRs for some require a lot of trainer body weight due to the tension and size of the client. When the person that you work on is over a foot taller and 50 pounds larger then you and or is extremely tense and tight in the chest area, it may be a good idea to refer them to taller trainers for the OBRs. We will introduce you to complementary modalities for this rare but often needed deeper level of the work. When in doubt refer them out. This modality gives amazing results but is also very serious to learn. If performed improperly, the trainer could cause harm to the receiving client. During the course you will receive hands-on, one-on-one training and detailed instruction. You will have every opportunity to gain proficiency in these techniques and it is amazing how quickly and easily the modality can be learned. Our goal is to teach you how to quickly give your client luxurious deeper easier and balanced breathing with no physical harm to yourself or your client. Plus enhancing your ability to teach your people about ergonomics, posture, environment and other relevant factors of breathing development.
